New Perry County Democratic Group
At the January 30th annual meeting of the Women’s Democrat Association
of Perry County, members voted to expand and re-name its association to “Perry
County Democratic Association”. The purpose of this re-organization
is to allow men and families to join. Members believe that this re-org. will
more successfully strengthen the local Democratic Party and better promote
the interests of the party at the state and federal levels. The group’s
mission remains the same “to promote harmony and solidarity among democrats,
and to help organize fellow democrats of Perry County into a steadfast group,
working for the principles and ideals of the Democrat Party”.
The organization’s activities will continue to include quarterly meetings and a newsletter and actively encouraging and supporting Democratic candidates, providing logistic support for the Perry County Central Committee during election periods and promoting progressive, democratic political interest amongst youths.
All democrats, including children, are encouraged to join by completing the Membership form-(PDF) and mailing it to P.O. Box 244, Cannelton, IN 47520.

County citizens make library book sale a success
The Friends of the Tell City-Perry County Library would like to thank the
many citizens of Perry County and surrounding areas for making our annual book
sale a success this year. We especially want to thank Barbara Ewing and the
Perry County Democrat Women for their book drive in our community. Many nice
books were added to the library collection. The remainder of the books were
used in the book sale providing affordable reading material for children and
adults.
A special thank you to Friend members Joyce Alvey, Mary Dunlap, Judy Howe,
Jayne Land, Larry and Kathy Oathout and Mary Phillips and Inez Sisley for helping
set up and run the sale August 12th. We want to thank the library staff, the
bookmobile staff and any other library workers who helped make our sale run
smoothly.
