Martha (Amos) Graves
Martha (Amos) Graves, daughter of the late Walter “Boob” Amos
and Hazle (Brown) Amos, has 13 brothers and sisters. Of those 13 kids, three
were boys, eleven were girls with three sets of twins.
Martha married Morris Wayne “Smokey” Graves on January 24, 1970. They have two children, Myra Lea Ann Graves and Milo Brandon Christian Graves; and three grandchildren, Cane Christian Allen Alvery, Kendall Christine Allen Alvery, and Kyra Lynn Kay Graves.
Martha has always been into politics. Her father held many offices as a democrat, and recently she’s been helping her husband run for Mayor of Cannelton.
“I truly believe all office holders should always be there for the people. To me, the best way to run any office is to involve all the people. The one thing I learned from dad is, it doesn’t matter if some people don’t like you, just make sure you seek their opinions because they matter too! Morris and I have always involved our family, friends, citizens of our city and county, and anyone else who cares to listen. I hope the democrats continue to work for the people and always be there for everyone.”
