Gary Dauby
County Commissioner - District 2

daubyGary Dauby is a graduate of Tell City High School, the University of Tennessee/Chattanooga and Indiana University. He taught school in Chattanooga, TN, Troy School, Hoosier Heights, Tell City High School and was a teacher and Director of Education at Branchville Correctional Facilitywhen he retired in 2005. Since then, he has been developing a vineyard with plans to open a winery in the near future.

Gary Dauby is no stranger to Perry County politics. He was elected as a Tell City Councilman for 3 terms and is the son of former County Commissioner Gervase Dauby.

He has been a member of the Perry County Democratic Party throughout his life.

Gary is a long-time resident of Perry County. He has been very active in the community and is currently the President of the Perry County Parks and Recreation Board and President of the Perry County Museum. He is a member of Lincoln Hills-Patoka Lake Recreation Region, the Indiana Wine-Grape Council, Kiwanis International, a committee member of the Perry County Foundation, a member of Tell City American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. Gary attends 1st United Methodist Church in Tell City.

Gary is the son of the late Gervase and Lillian Dauby and lives at Rocky Point. His wife, Lynn is a teacher at Perry Central Jr.-Sr. High School. Together they have 5 children: Lance (Asheville, NC), Karma (Ooltewah, TN), Cassidy (currently in Afghanistan), Adrian (currently in Korea), and Boyce (Purdue University).

Gary believes in the youth of Perry County and is concerned about their future health and wellness. One portion of his political platform is to continue development of outdoor recreation opportunities for youth. He looks forward to the possibility of serving the people of Perry County.
